Get a free link for your church site

March 4, 2008 – 11:59 pm

We all know that links make the world go round — get more links to your site, and you’ll start ranking better. Well, we’re gonna help you out.

We’ve installed a script that shows the “Top Commentators” on the site over the past month.  Those that leave the most comments to entries on this site (including this entry) get a link to their site shown.  Right now, it only takes one comment to get a link to your site!  Be sure to include your web address when leaving the comment, and your link will show up instantly on the right side of our site.

This link will send a little bit of direct traffic to your site, but it will also pass along some link juice that should give you a tiny boost in the search engines.

I hope it helps!

  2. Hi, Mickey,

I know that links make the world go round. Thanks for providing another avenue for a link to our sites to appear.

You have some good stuff here, Mickey.

    Thanks,

    Carol

  3. Hi Mickey,

THanks for this great site. We have been working on our new website for over six months now, still a little way to go before finished, such as actual photos and some copy enhancements. Published on web but not promoted yet. Look forward to your comments (if any!) and to the help of a link.

    God bless,

    Ian

  4. Ian — I saw a few copy issues in there (some sample text), and a whole lot of “click here” on the front page, but it’s a good-looking site. Contact me when it’s complete and I’ll be happy to give it a full review.

  5. Thanks Mickey,

Will keep in touch. BTW, what do you suggest to replace click here? Some keywords?

    Thanks,

    Ian

  6. Just describe the link. For example, instead of:

“We love Google. To search on Google, click here

    you could say

“We recommend you use Google to search”

For more examples, check out the text in the middle of this page on our church site:

    http://www.mtbethel.org/menu28/Traditional

Lots of embedded links in there.

  7. Mickey-
You’ve got a good resource here. It pointed out a lot of things our church and private school should be including on our website that we just never considered. We appreciate your knowledge and will certainly be checking back often.

    God Bless!

  10. Hey - I love this plugin. I use it on a few of my websites and it has really encouraged more participation by bloggers. I actually found this website looking for church websites that use it.

    Thanks
